3rd Grade: Students have been working with time over the past few weeks. After becoming proficient with subtraction with borrowing, students now are using small analog clocks to tell and make time. This is a hard skill for students to learn, but they are doing a fabulous job. We are now beginning to find elapsed time. 4th Grade: The fourth graders have been enjoying learning how to multiply two digits by 2 digits. They started by using the cuisenaire rods to build a model of the equations. Now they are also drawing a pictoral model along with solving using partial products. Soon the students will be multiplying using the standard algorithm. 5th Grade: In fifth grade, we have spent a lot of time working with decimal numbers. Students have learned how to perform the four operations with decimal numbers. When working with multiplication and division, students can use the inverse operation to check their work.
